Love this Lochby Quattro pen holder! Excellent craftsmanship and the feel of the canvas is top notch.
It's a fantastic case, I squeezed to fill it up with 5 pens and one fat FC e-Motion mechanical pencil, including a super slim eraser which fits in the corner teeny weeny slot. I would suggest it be upgrade with Quattro 2 and field journal 2 which the pen case could attach to the field journal by way of belt clip attachment, try not to use the conveniently commonly design of rubber strap or velcro, which lose it's elasticity over time.
I should have ordered the Quattro a long time ago. :-) It does indeed hold 4 pens in a soft padded interior, and large-ish pens at that, off-set from one another so it will lie as flat as possible in your bag or what have you, and it doesn't feel all "chunky" or bulky when it's full. Also the Quattro is about the very same size as the Lochby pocket notebook; another gadget I never leave home without. If you tuck it into that back pocket of the Lochby Field Journal, it does indeed fit easily, but the added bulk causes my Field Journal's back cover to "bow inwards" a bit which might eventually deform the stiff plastic liner sewn into the journal's covers into that shape permanently. That's hardly a deal-breaker though! I love this thing.
Durable construction, high quality zipper, liner is soft, four pens fit comfortably.
I should have ordered the Quattro a long time ago. :-) The construction of this thing is every bit as high-quality as other customers and Lochby themselves have said. I ordered mine in the same nice rustic brown color as all the other Lochby items I've ordered. It does indeed hold 4 pens, and large-ish ones at that, off-set from one another so it will lie as flat as possible in your bag or what have you, and it doesn't feel all "chunky" or bulky when it's full of pens. I also have the Lochby tool roll, which I love, but you don't always need to carry quite so much stuff around as the volume the tool roll will hold and that's where the Quattro shines. It safely carries your favorite pens in a soft padded interior and does not take up a lot of space, and it LOOKS GOOD doing it. I've got a couple of those tiny Moleskine pocket notebooks (A-7 ish size?) and I tucked one into the back pocket of it where it fits nicely if I happen to need it in a hurry. (BTW, the Quattro is about the very same size as the Lochby pocket notebook...another gadget I never leave home without.) I've not tested the assurances of how waterproof it is, but I feel safe enough that my expensive pens would still be okay if it got wet. I can tell you that if you tuck it into that back pocket of the Lochby Field Journal (the crown jewel of my Lochby collection), it does indeed fit easily, but the added bulk causes my Field Journal's back cover to "bow inwards" a bit which might eventually deform the stiff plastic liner sewn into the journal's covers into that shape permanently. I welcome any contradictory opinions on that. Thank you Lochby! I love this thing, and it arrived packed in a nice padded shipping envelope.
