Ready for years of use

Durable, water-resistant materials protect your notes wherever you work—built to handle rough travel, daily carry, and creative chaos.

I work out in the field weekly and have been in search of the perfect folio notebook that fits my needs in the field, in customer meetings, on the plane and in the office. The ability to have more than one notebook at a time and swap out notebooks easily is perfect for my needs.

— Gregory W.

I have a black one that I use for a special project at work and a brown one for everyday journaling. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the number of inside pockets, expandable size for multiple A5 journals or one or two larger notebooks, pen holder, zipper, outer side pocket, and durability can't be beat.

— Kimberly C.

It is flawlessly crafted of premium materials and is built like a tank...it should outlast even me. LOL. I have filled it with a series of several A5 sized journals serving as my Commonplace Journal, my Collections and Hobbies Journal, Books Read and To Be Read Notes, and Fitness and Health Notes.

— Charles M.

I got this for my husband since he keeps notepads all over the house for DIY planning, shopping lists, and coaching stuff. This keeps them all in one place, each in their own separate notebook. He loved it and uses it daily.

— Lauren L.

I used to write my daily task on my phone but the notes would often never get looked at because they are buried in apps on my phone, and glancing at my phone is mentally difficult to do... I highly recommend this product for anyone that wants one less reason to look at their phones. It's a great accessory for my mental health.

Field Folio A5 vs. B5

Design: Both feature a full zipper closure and a horizontal pen loop for secure, streamlined organization.

Size & Compatibility: The Field Folio A5 version holds most A5-sized (5.8" x 8.3") notebooks, while the B5 is designed to fit larger B5 (7.6" x 10.1") notebooks, including standard composition books (7.5" x 9.75").

Best For: Choose the B5 if you prefer more writing space or use composition notebooks. Go with A5 for a more compact, everyday carry.

    Great organizer

I bought this field folio to hold my individual 72 page collections notebooks. I have a notebook for each of the following collections - gardening, travel, recipes. This folio is sturdy and stylish while keeping everything in one place and easy to use. Places for pens and sticky notes.

    perfect for school.

this is amazing for school, with the notebook, taking a summer class in Boston, the one dot grid notebook with the class subject, and the line so well with class and I write more. For my ADHD this works and has been a game savor. Kinda like the trapper keepers when I was in middle school but smaller, and fits in the backpack. I want the B5 only cause it's bigger and would hold more like My iPad 11 pro. where has this been. I even got one for my Ems work strictly for that job, again with my ADHD this works cause I strive on habits...

    Love my Field Folio.

I'm really enjoying my field folio - it's an amazing holder for small, 30-page notebooks. Lochby makes a nice one and I'm also partial to the Pen and Gear ones that Walmart is selling for a $1. The zipper pull is extremely well-thought-out and works very nicely. Love the waxed canvas material and so thankful that it really LAYS FLAT! A similar product from the "jungle place" said it would lay flat, but the notebook is all wavy as the cover is of varying thickness. Also loved how Lochby sent a follow-on "how to care for your folio" e-mail - very nice touch! VERY HAPPY! I've shown it around at the office quite a bit!

    life changing

This is the larged EDC item I take with me to work, but it is life changing. To have this open on my desk at work and home is so much easier to use compared to my phone riddled with distractions of apps/notifications/text messages.

I used to write my daily task on my phone but the notes would often never get looked at becaused they are burried in apps on my phone, and glancing at my phone is mentally difficult to do just one thing. I have the Lochby Sidekick wallet and it's great for small quick notes, but to have A5 sized paper at all times on the desk makes it easier to jot down quick notes and read through.

On a side note, I highly recommend Otter Wax. I have used this product on both of my Lochby products with a very LOW heat iron and have ironed the Otter wax into the covers, and they work great protecting the covers. I have gotten a few scratches now and then but it adds character to it.

One gripe i do have is that the pen slot on the top left is a very tight fit for a Lamy AlStar which is my preferred pen. You can fit a Lamy Safari in that slat as the Safari's body is a tad thinner. I resorted to putting a Lamy Safari in the back sleeve above my notebook for a better fit. I wish my AlStar fit in the pen slot though as I much prefer the AlStar.

I highly recommend this product for anyone that wants one less reason to not look at their phones. It's a great accessory for my mental health.

We’re really glad the Field Folio has made such a meaningful difference for you! We also completely agree that there’s something special about keeping things analog and distraction-free. Thanks for the Otter Wax tip and we appreciate your note about the pen slot. We'll definitely keep that in mind as we continue to improve and pass it on to our product development team.

Thanks for the support, it means the world to us!

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Why is the zipper designed this way?

We designed the zipper to rest on top when the folio is fully open. This keeps the writing surface flat and free of bulges, so nothing gets in your way while you work.

The zipper’s position also determines where the pen pocket goes—keeping it on top makes it easier to access and keeps the folio clean and functional when closed. Read more.
