We know the struggle of choice—whether you have two options or fifteen of them, it’s not always easy to choose something if you have several options to choose from. One of the most common questions we get around here, ever since we added the Venture Pouch to our lineup, is this:
“Should I get the Tool Roll or the Venture Pouch?”
In today’s blog post, we break down a few things to consider before making your choice! It all boils down to the basics and we hope to help you narrow down your choices and reasons to get one or the other.
Let’s get started!
How much are you planning to carry with you and what types of items are these? Capacity is one of the things we want to keep in mind when deciding between the Tool Roll or the Venture Pouch.
In general, both can carry quite a lot: the Tool Roll has a side pocket and three more pockets behind the elastic loops, while the Venture Pouch has two sections, one of which features elastic loops of their own. However, the difference in design means there are some items that can better be carried around in the Tool Roll or vice versa.
From what we’ve seen from our customers, pens and a lot of fairly flat tools—like knitting needles, cables, watercolor palettes, and more—find their way inside the Tool Roll. We’ve also seen microphones in there! Basically, not overly large or wide objects are the items that they put in it. Our Pocket Journal Refills also fit in the pockets behind the elastic loops!
As for the Venture Pouch, a lot of these same items can go on the side of it that has elastic loops, but what really sets it apart from the Tool Roll is how it can carry more variety—in terms of size most especially—when it comes to your daily carry. Glasses? Check. Handyman tools? We’ve seen it there so another check! The Pocket Journal can even fit inside, too!
We know that some people are very particular about what they carry with them on the daily. They have a fixed amount of space in their bags and so bulk is an important factor that needs consideration when deciding between the Tool Roll or the Venture Pouch.
The nice thing about both is how they’re not overly large. We want our gear to be easy to carry and to take as little space as possible! However, the adorable tidbit is how the Tool Roll does tighten up into a little waxed canvas burrito! Depending on what you’ve got in it, you can make adjustments on the loop and bundle it up nice and tight.
This isn’t to say the Venture Pouch is bulky in comparison—it’s not and it will still depend on what you put in it—but if you’re concerned about space, this is worth taking note of.
We’re proud to say that both the Tool Roll and Venture Pouch can help you with organization. But then again, we also realize that some people are more particular with how they organize their stuff.
The Tool Roll is very straightforward and you basically have everything either in the pockets, or in the elastic loops.
But if you want a distinct space for types of items, then you may want to consider the Venture Pouch since it has two separate sections, with one featuring elastic loops and the other a normal pouch space.
We all have our preferences and sometimes, a simple zipper or hook closure option can make or break our decision! If you’re more comfortable with having a pouch that zips closed all the way, then consider the Venture Pouch. Otherwise, the Tool Roll is still great since it has flaps on top and at the bottom to keep your items safe while it’s all bundled up.
These are just four things that most of our customers who bought either the Tool Roll or the Venture Pouch looked at before making their choice. What other things would you consider if you’re still deciding which one to go for?
