Puts my mini-field journal to good use.

I've found Lochby's A5 sized planner notebooks to be the ideal setup for me and I've probably used up half a dozen or more of those by now. When I finally treated myself to the mini-field journal setup I found that these 3.5" x 5.5" planners are no different. Since they're so compact you won't find them COMPLETELY identical to the A5 ones (for instance they don't have the monthly two page calendar spreads in the first few pages like the bigger ones do) but they make up for it in their handy size. I realize that "everyone makes pocket sized planners" but try finding one in this same size with Tomoe River paper, and in a format that doesn't lock you into being forced to use it for a specific year only. The same little planner does the same job this year that it did in 2025, and it's one more useful component of what has become the "multi-tool of pocket journals".

We really appreciate you taking the time to share this. It’s great to hear the pocket planner has been such a natural fit alongside your A5 setup, especially in the Mini Field Journal. We put a lot of thought into keeping the format flexible and reusable instead of tied to a specific year, given the premium Tomoe River paper, so it’s awesome seeing that resonate in real-world use. Thanks for your continued support and for making Lochby part of your everyday carry setup!

    Best Little Calendar

I'm a Lochby convert, particularly with A6-sized everything, especially the Pocket-Planner - it's fantastic. Whether you're a Lochby person or not, I certainly couldn't find a better A6 calendar planner out there...and I looked! If you want a non-digital vault for managing the things going on in your life, and you like A6-sized notebooks, this is hard to beat.

    Pocket size planner

I am so glad these came back in stock! Bought a couple packs just to make sure I am set for a while! Perfect size and room to keep me on track and out of trouble! Paper quality is great, couldn’t ask for a better product!

    Great quality, but lacking

I love the paper and the layout. However, it really bugs me that you can't fit a full year into it.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Our journal covers are modular so many of our customers love that they can mix and match multiple notebooks inside—thickness really matters for that setup. We also use Tomoe River paper, which is premium and a bit more expensive, so creating a full-year planner with this paper would make the notebook significantly pricier. We try to balance sustainability, quality, and affordability based on customer feedback while giving the flexibility for people to swap in multiple notebooks as they like. Of course, if the demand ever shifts, we'll definitely reconsider!

Great planner just not a full year

I absolutely love this little planner. It’s flexible and obviously portable. I haven’t been able to find another one like this in this size.

Having said that, I reaaaally wish it was a full 52 weeks rather than 35. I’d gladly pay the price for that. Many of us plan ahead . So to not be able to plan anything in it past 8 months (or to be near the end of the planner and not be able to plan something say 2-3 months ahead) is a bummer. I really wish Lochby would reconsider this idea and perhaps start offering both - the 35 week planner and a 52 week planner and let us decide which works best for our lifestyle :)
