    How I love my wallet

Well this wallet from Lochby is cool. Everything from my old wallet fits into it yet it is a lot smaller. I think it is a Tardis. What else can explain it?

It even has a note book in it where I can hide my most secret thoughts. Safe from everyone. After all girlfriends don't check out their boyfriend's wallets.

But.... there always has to be a but.

I'd like to see a closure of some sort. Perhaps a zipper. Don't get me wrong. Nothing is going to fall out of it.

I just like a safe, warm feeling.

And what is the loop for????

Guys, buy it. You will enjoy it.

Thanks for this review and really glad to hear it’s fitting your setup and still keeping things more compact. Also appreciate the note on the closure preference. It’s designed to stay secure without a zipper but we get the “extra reassurance” feeling you’re talking about. And the loop is intended as a carry/attachment point for accessories depending on how you want to use it. Thanks again for the support—and glad you’re enjoying it!

    Stout little sidekick.

Stout notebook with though stitching. No cheap staples here. Fits perfectly into my Sidekick V2 while leaving room for a pen.

    Decent

I am a huge Lochby fan. I got the A7 notebook to go with my Sidekick journal/wallet. The A7 is just a little too small. My OCD wants it to fill the journal completely. It’s too big to go in the small pocket of the side kick and to small to stay put in the large pocket.

    A Welcome Addition

When I wrote my review for the Sidekick, I deducted a star from an otherwise glowing review because at the time, I couldn't find an appropriately-sized (A7) notebook that I liked. This addition to the catalog has solved that problem. (As an aside, Lochby CS: if there is a way for me to amend my Sidekick review, I would love the opportunity to do so!)

As someone who doesn't love lined paper, but also can't write in a straight line to save his life, the dot-matrix is a great happy medium. The lack of branding combined with the dot-matrix also means that the book is completely symmetrical along both axes, so I can write one kind of notes from one side, but also flip the book over and write another kind of note from the other side and have them meet in the middle. (This might just be a weird thing I do, but I'm grateful for it.) On the topic of writing, the paper itself feels great to write on, and the stock is just thick enough to be durable while still being thin enough to give you plenty of pages in a small package.

At $3.50/book, these are essentially identical in price to the Moleskine Volant, but with dots instead of lines and without perforations. In addition to preferring the dots, I also like that the Lochby pages are non-perforated. While the ability to tear pages out might be appealing to some, I prefer the durability of the solid page, and I can always use my multitool scissors to cut a page out if necessary.

All in all, I'm very pleased with these notebooks. If…

This is such a thoughtful and detailed review. Thank you! We're really glad the A7 notebooks are working out for your setup and it’s great to know that the dot grid strikes the right balance for you. Thanks for the shoutout about wanting to update your Sidekick review as well. They're unfortunately no longer editable after they're submitted. Still, we appreciate you mentioning this bit!
